Licensing

 

Marex uses a commercial product called SoftwarePassport that provides sophisticated software protection with many features. No need for hardware dongles anymore. Protection is provided by ensuring that a valid license key is entered on the PC. Keys can be global or directly associated to a single PC based on its hardware fingerprint.

 

License keys can be permanent or time limited. Without a valid key you get to use the product in trial mode and most of the time we include a watermark of some sort on the input and output to ensure the trial is not used in a real environment.

 

Marex has developed expertise to control field upgradable software options using activation keys to enable options simply by creating a key for a given client. Such an option key will only work if the client has a valid license.

 

We provide a web page to create Activation Key for any given products. You then enter that Activation Key into the Marex License Tool on the target PC and it will obtain a License Key for that PC only. We also provide a secure way to transfer a License Key from one PC to another to offer greater flexibility for the client.
