fastStream is a low latency streaming server for any application that uses vShare. The purpose of fastStream is to enable monitoring or audio and video sources on remote computers on a LAN. Most applications these days are web based and OEMs are trying to get away from desktop applications that must run on the same computer where the video is processed. With fastStream, a server application that handles video for recording or playout for instance can create a smaller size video for monitoring within a web based client application that will run on a computer located somewhere else in the building. fastStream encodes the audio and video and streams it to a remote component that you embed into a web page.
fastStream offers two remote components: an ActiveX for use with Internet Explorer or any desktop application that supports COM and a Silverlight control that is more open to different browsers and operating systems.
